    The Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) now denies prescriptions for controlled substances (schedule II to IV) written by non-Medicaid prescribers. Effective November 8, 2010, Passport Health Plan (PHP) mirrors the DMS requirement. The claims system will return the following point of sale message: "Out of Network Prescriber: Prescriber Call 877-838-5085."

    Effective September 1, 2010, Passport Health Plan (PHP) will reimburse pharmacies for administration of the injectable seasonal flu vaccine to all members between the ages of 19-65 (except Fluzone High Dose for members 65 years and older), and Flumist* to all members between the ages of 19-49. PHP members have a $0 copay for the flu vaccine. Flu vaccines for children are provided through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. Pharmacies may not administer or bill for the children's flu vaccines.

    Passport Health Plan (Medicaid) may provide additional coverage for some drugs or classes of drugs excluded from Medicare Part D (i.e. over-thecounter drugs [OTCs], benzodiazepines, and barbiturates and cost-sharing for Part B drugs and supplies such as diabetic strips and lancets).
