Passport Advantage provides its members with Medicare's prescription drug benefit called Medicare Part D. Passport Advantage contracts with PerformRx, a pharmacy benefit manager, to administer its prescription drug benefit.
What You Pay
Co-payments
Passport Advantage members pay co-payments for each prescription they get filled at the pharmacy. The Medicare program requires you to pay these co-payments. The amount you will pay depends on how much extra help Medicare gives you to cover your medicines.
The 2008 co-payments are:
- $1.05 or $2.25 for each prescription of a generic drug.
- $3.10 or $5.60 for each prescription of a brand-name drug.
- $0 for members living in certain long term care facilities.
In 2008, once you and Passport Advantage have paid $4,050 toward your prescription drug benefit in a calendar year, you will not have to pay any more co-payments for the rest of that calendar year.
For more information on the difference between a generic and a brand name prescription drug, see your Passport Advantage Evidence of Coverage. Each prescription gives you up to a 30-day supply of medicine.
Premium
Passport Advantage members do not pay a monthly plan premium. They do not pay a monthly premium because they get extra help from Medicare to pay for their medicines.
To better understand what you pay for and what you do not pay for, please look at our Benefits Chart.
Our Rules
Our rules apply to all Passport Advantage members, including members who live in a long term care facility. The Medicare program has reviewed and approved all of our rules.
